Innovation market: Interactive spiral wavs in the heart

Join us this year to pave the road towards a just and sustainable future together. What is the role of technology in this transition? How can we challenge the status quo? What and who do we need to succeed in this transitional journey? Visit TEKNOWLOGY 2025 to be inspired and challenged to collaborate with pioneers from research, industry and the public sector.
At TEKNOWLOGY, we will try to answer the following questions: How can we boost innovation? What can we learn from transitions in the past? What is required for social acceptance of technology?
For the TEKNOWLOGY meeting, where we look at technology through an interdisciplinary lens, I was invited to present the research that was conducted under last year's Open Mind grant as part of the innovation market. Together with Desmond, we presented an interactive demonstration of how heart rhythm disorders manifest themselves. By means of a touch-screen, visitors could interact with fast simulations to try and terminate arrhythmias, gaining useful insight into these life-threatening rhythm disturbances in a playful way.
We received many compliments for our explanations and fun way to engage the public in our ongoing biomedical research.
